MDA-CAB DIALOGUE 2024: FOSTERING COLLABORATION AND COMPLIANCE IN THE MEDICAL DEVICE SECTOR
CAB Registration Unit (CABRU) under the Pre-Market Controls Division (BKPP), proudly hosted the MDA-CAB Dialogue 2024 on October 23 at Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya, uniting over 150 participants from various Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), auditors, and technical personnel. This engaging half-day event aimed to strengthen partnerships within the CABs while providing participants with critical updates and insights into evolving regulatory frameworks. Held at the scenic Cindai 1 & 2 halls, the dialogue featured presentations from prominent MDA officials and sector leaders, beginning with an inspiring keynote by MDA Chief Executive, Dr. Muralitharan Paramasua, emphasizing the MDA's commitment to supporting the safe and effective use of medical devices nationwide.
Throughout the agenda, attendees benefited from in-depth presentations on essential topics, including the MDA-CAB engagement series, CAB registration updates, and a closer look at the ASEAN-approved medical device registration recognition processes. A highlight of the event was the introduction of the MeDC@St 3.0 proposals, presented by the Medical Device Registration Unit (MeDRU), which offered participants a fresh perspective on future online system opportunities. The dialogue also featured an interactive Q&A session, enabling participants to seek clarifications directly from the MDA officials, reinforcing the collaborative spirit and open communication that defined the day.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, the MDA-CAB Dialogue 2024 set a high standard for collaboration and information-sharing, helping CABs remain informed and compliant in a rapidly changing landscape. The event concluded with a group photo session, commemorating this successful gathering, and a lunch break that provided additional networking opportunities. MDA looks forward to the continued support of its CABs and is already planning an even more impactful session for the next year, reinforcing its dedication to advancing Malaysia’s medical device industry.
